The average salary is around HKD 19,100 (USD 2,430) for male workers and HKD 14,700 (USD 1,875) but can increase much if you have the right skills and experience.<\/p>\n<p>If you look for high-paying jobs, you should have a look at the following professions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IT &#038; Telecommunication \u2013 CIO \/ CTO: HKD 2.8 million \u2013 HKD 3.5 million<\/li>\n<li>Banking &#038; Finance \u2013 Executive Director: HKD 2.8 million+<\/li>\n<li>Finance &#038; Accounting \u2013 CFO: HKD 1 million \u2013 HKD 2.5 million<\/li>\n<li>Pharmaceutical \u2013 R&#038;D Director: HKD 1 million \u2013 HKD 2 million<\/li>\n<li>Insurance \u2013 Regional Head (underwriter): HKD 1.3 million \u2013 HKD 1.8 million<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you can see, the salaries vary much depending on your skills and experiences. If you want to live a comfortable life in Hong Kong, I recommend you to look for jobs where you earn at least USD 4,000 (HKD 31,400) per month.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"findajobhk-5\">How high are the income taxes?<\/h2>\n<p>Hong Kong has some of the lowest income taxes in the world, a reason why many business professionals move there to pursue a career or start a company. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.hk\/en\/residents\/taxes\/taxfiling\/taxrates\/salariesrates.htm\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">The tax rate increases<\/a> progressively and are currently as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On the first HKD 50,000: 2%\t(HKD 1,000)<\/li>\n<li>On the next HKD 50,000: 6% (HKD 3,000)<\/li>\n<li>On the next HKD 50,000: 10% (HKD 5,000)<\/li>\n<li>On the next HKD 50,000: 14% (HKD 7,000)<\/li>\n<li> Remainder: 17%<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As such, you don\u2019t have to pay more than HKD 4,000 in tax if you earn HKD 100,000. If you earn HKD 200,000 a year, you only have to pay HKD 16,000 in tax, which is kind of crazy.<\/p>\n<p>For up-to-date information, I recommend you to visit the Hong Kong government\u2019s website where you can find the tax rates of salaries tax &#038; personal assessment.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"findajobhk-6\">What should my CV look like?<\/h2>\n<p>CVs are written in a similar way to that of the UK, short and concise and without having a photo of the applicant. The Hong Kong resumes usually include the following information in chronological order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name<\/li>\n<li>Contact information<\/li>\n<li>Personal summary<\/li>\n<li>Work experience<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous\/Language<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I recommend you to check websites that provide resume templates for the Hong Kong market. You can also go to Google Images and find examples.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to walk the extra mile, consider hiring an agency to write your resume on your behalf.
